The Baja Station - Rustic Ranch house

This 80-year-old ranch house, lovingly restored into an off-grid, bohemian-style beach lodge, sits in the heart of La Fortuna and is ideal for families, big groups, and social travelers. With three additional surf breaks, several restaurants, bars, and a convenience store all within easy walking distance, this is the perfect base for an East Cape adventure.

The space

The Baja Station Ranch House currently has capacity for 12 guests between three double rooms (King, Queen and Palapa) and a dorm room. All the double rooms include a dedicated work space that includes a desk, chair, power sockets and a lamp. Those staying in the bunk room can use the communal areas for working which incudes desks, tables and comfortable seating areas with power sockets and wifi connection. Additionally there is an outside lounge with hammocks, beanbags and a bbq and a big inside chill area with two big sofa's and another desk.

Centrally there is a big outside (but covered and shaded) fully equiped kitchen with a big table, ideal for big shared dinners and late night talks.

The Ranch House is fully off-grid, powered by solar energy while still offering all the essentials for a comfortable stay:
- Super-fast, unlimited Starlink Wi-Fi
- Refrigeration
- Lights and fans in every room
- Hot water showers
- There are currently two shared outdoor showers and two shared toilets. Please note: they are not shared with other guests.

It truely is the best place to focus on nature, surf & being together with people you love.

The Ranch House is part of a project called The Baja Station. When you book the Ranch House, the entire house is private and exclusively yours.

Just a one-minute walk away, you’ll find The Baja Station Cafe,  a social, kid- and pet-friendly space where you can enjoy breakfast, coffee, drinks, and get information about water activities. On Sundays, we host our Sunday Jams at the café from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Other things: We run entirely on solar power and rely on water deliveries, so we encourage guests to be mindful of energy and water use. While we have backup systems like generators and always aim to keep things running smoothly, life off the grid can have its quirks, especially on cloudy days. If you’re a digital nomad or need guaranteed connectivity for a critical call, just give us a heads-up so we can ensure you’re covered. We’re here to help make your stay as seamless as possible!
